Shawn began working for the Peddler’s Shop soon after our store relocated to Deptford in 1986. At 14 years old his duties where limited to cleaning up and helping out with repairs. He loved working with bicycles and meeting the great cyclist in the area. His mechanical talents grew as he did, and he moved up to shop supervisor in 1992. As in most bike shops we wear many hats, Shawn’s ability to understand the new technology that was being introduced in the early 90’s also made him an excellent salesperson.
Shawn’s talents did not go unnoticed. TREK bicycles offered him a position in the distribution division. After a short period he was promoted to distribution supervisor for TREK’s three midwestern warehouses, and he found himself living in
In Shawn’s spare time he is now enjoying the benefits of owning a house, and a new puppy. He also enjoys working on his 98’ Volkswagen Jetta which he has fully customized for use in car shows. Shawn enjoys riding both road and mountain bikes.
Shawn is also our director of charity cycling support. Last year his volunteerism (along with our crew) helped dozens of cyclist during the MS150 city to shore bicycle ride. He also had the chance to meet thousands of cyclists on their journey to the
